error installing visual c 2005 express

Error installing Visual C# 2005 Express

Hi all, I'm trying to install VC# 2005 Express in order to do some development testing on Vista. I've downloaded the express installer (not the full iso image), and I get an error which says I need to have installed Windows XP Service Pack 2 ????
Running setup with compatibility mode set to XP SP2 doesn't work (same error message). Boot on to safe mode and ran it from the built in Administrator account and I don't get the error, but the installer needs BITS service enabled in order to proceed downloading files, so I can't install anyway because I can't start this service.
Some suggestion??
Thanks in advance
Fernando

It's not compatible with Vista yet - no doubt they'll make it applyable :o)
